2of 2 Gallery is pleased to announce a solo
show of new paintings by Vancouver based artist Angus Ferguson.
For his first solo show at 2 of 2 Gallery, Ferguson continues to direct the growing amount of disorder and abandoned projects in his studio into paintings. Lost ideas, scraps of model materials, magazine clippings, older paintings and studio furniture are combined to form superstructures and environments that hint at escapist as well as apocalyptic or futuristic fantasies. The towers, tree forts and islands are testament to what is essentially time spent in the studio while also considering its inevitable demise. Angus Ferguson has a BFA from Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design (2002). He has recently shown in Vancouver at the Charles H. Scott Gallery, Belkin Satellite Gallery. In 2007, he was short listed for the RBC painting competition. |
