2of 2 Gallery is pleased to announce a solo
exhibition of new paintings by Toronto based artist
Paige Holden. This new portrait series by Paige Holden expands on the artists’ previous work concentrating on the gaze. In this series, Spectacles Testicles, the artist takes a humorous look at men in glasses. It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul - by selecting subjects with spectacles, Holden has framed these windows. Emphasis is drawn to the eyes so that the viewer consciously or unconsciously is aware that the portraits are looking back. These portraits are larger than life and force the viewer to interact with the men. With comical and quizzical expressions Holden introduces you to the men in her life, they are her friends, her family and her inspiration. Paige Holden born 1982 Halifax, Canada, graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2009. Spectacles Testicles is Holden’s second solo show at 2 of 2 Gallery.
